IMPROVEMENT IN METALLIC SWEAT AND COLLAR PADS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 138,990, dated May 20, 1873; application filed August 14, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN M. O. BENNETT, of Ovid, in the county of Clinton and State of Michigan, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Metallic Sweat and Collar Pads; and I do declare that the following is a true and accurate description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon, and being a part of this specification, in Which Figure 1 is a perspective View of my improvement detached. Fig. 2 shows the same in relation to the collar.
Like letters refer to like parts in each figure.
The nature of this invention relates to an improvement in sweat and collar pads, so constructed of sheet metal (zinc preferred) as to be flexible to fit the various difi'erent conformations in the necks of horses, to entirely prevent chafing, and, when in operation, to create a current of electricity, which will be healing in its tendency. The invention consists in constructing said pad or shield in such form, from sheet metal, that it will readily conform to the sh ape of the neck and shoulder.
