Application The present invention has to do with certain improvements in corn cribs and similar are intended for holding corn and other like products. l/Vhenthe ferment and otherwise readily construction, for example, was one in which the crib itself was slotted or slatted so as to readily admit the air to the outer layers or portions of the bulk of corn. This air, howpenetrate to the central portion of the corn, and this latter would, therefore, soon deteriorate and the fermentation or deterioration would rapidly progress toward the outer layers.
e single figure in the drawing shows in view a corn crib embodying the present invention, portions thereof being broken away so as to more clearly reveal the construction and manner of operation of the present invention.
he corn crib illustrated is built up from slatted fencing comprising longitudinally drawn wires and cross slats, which type of Specification of Letters Patent.

fencing is readily procurable port on of the United States. The outer portion of the corn crib comprisesa circular inclosure- 1 built up from such fencing bent into circular form, and the height of this inclosure can be made as great as desired by ad ing sections one on top of the other, as shownin the drawing. illustrated, two It will be observed'that when additional secslats, I spondingly improving the connection beadded strength to the entire structure.
In order to' ventilate the interior of the crib, the foll upper edge of the crib, so as to surely reach above the contained corn or other material. This vent is conveniently built outer inclosure, whereby the vent extends some distance above the inclosure.
he air entering the lower end of the vent is enabled to pass out and diffuse through the entire central body portion of the mass of material. T is it is enabled to do because of the slots between the slats. In order to facilitate the entrance of air into the lower portion of the vent, I prefer to set the entire crib on a platform 6 which is set a slight distance above the ground to prothe air can enter through said space and thus reach the lower of the vent, there being a suitable opening in the platform permitting the air to pass from the space beneath the platform to the lower end of the vent.
While I have in this specification men tioned the use of these features of the construction particularly in connection with corn cribs and the like,
