cient in operation. A further object is to provide a knife comprising a simple form of holder wherein novel blade securing and ad- 'ustino means are nrovided. With the fore-V going and other objects in view the invention. consists in the combinationand arrangement of parts to be hereinafter fully described, pointed out in the appended claim and illustrated in the accompanying drawing which forms a part of this specification and in which Figure 1 is a fragmentary plan view of my improved knife.
Fig. 2 is a cross section taken on line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of one type of blade employed.
Fig. 4 is a plan view of a slightly modified form of knife from that illustrated in Fig. 1.

Like reference characters denote corresponding parts throughout the several views.
My improved knife comprises a holder having a circular hub 1 formed with the central perforation 2 and radiating from said extending beyond the perforation and carrying a nut 8 formed with a stem 9 adapted for insertion in a perforation formed in the blade 5 whereby said blade isreleasably retained in operative position in the said groove 4. It is evident that the blade may be secured more or less rmly in the said groove by means of the said screw 6 which is adjustable through the medium of a wrench applied to its head. Y
1n Figs. 7 and 9 the perforation 6, inarm 3, opens into a groove lOthat receives the collar 1l of screw 7 said collar extending beyond the said groove 10 for engagement with the elongated perforation 12 formed in the.
blade 5. The screw 7 being formed with the groove 13 may be adjusted relatively to the f arm 3 to cause adjustment ofthe blade 5 and to bind the same rmly in the said groeve 4. 'I Y In Figs. 4 and 5 each arm 3 is formed with a perforation 14 that extends transversely ,o f the groove 4 to receive a screw 15 which engages with a perforated portion in the blade 5 whereby said blade is releasably locked in position in the groove 4.
`What is claimed is:-
In a knife of the character described, the combination with a substantially.rectangular supporting arm having a longitudinal slot in one side face and a transversely disposed centrally located perforation above said slot at right angles thereto; of a reversible blade with longitudinal cutting edges beveled in reverse directions, either edge being adapted to be positioned in said slot, said blade having a central perforation therein, a bolt eX- tending through the perforation of said sup-Y porting arm, one end of said bolt projecting out over said blade above the perforation therein, a blade retaining nut threaded on said projecting-end of the bolt, and a peri-pheral radial stem on said nut to be received in the perforation of said blade, the inner end of said slot serving to limit the inward travel of the blade. Y
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of twoV subscribing witnesses.
