Description
F. M. LOKOMETZKI,
CURTAIN FIXTURE.
APPLICATION HLED JUNE 8,1920.

INVENTOR 3 m-roRusv UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CURTAIN-FIXTURE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb. 8, 1921.
Application filed June 8, 1920. Serial No. 387,404.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK M. LoKo- METZKI, a citizen of the United States, residing at Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin, have invented new and useful Improvements in Curtain-Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a curtain fixture and the principal object of the invention is to provide a pair of brackets adapted to support both the curtain pole and shade roller and having means for clamping them to the window frame.
Another object of the invention is to provide means whereby the clamping part may be adjusted to fit diflerent widths of frames and the shade roller brackets may be adjusted to suit different sizes of rollers.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a front view of a single bracket constructed in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a section on line 22 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is an edge view of the bracket.
As shown in these views the device comprises a pair of channel-shaped members 1 and 2 one member being of less width than the other so as to fit within said other member, the flanges of bothmembers being convergent so as to hold the one member in the other. The outer end of each member is provided with a jaw part 8 for engaging the edges of the window frame and the inner member 2 is provided with an elongated slot 4, the metal cut to form the slot being bent upwardly to form a longitudinally extending rib 5. The shade roller holding bracket is shown at 6 and the body part of this bracket is also of channel shape with its flanges bent outwardly to fit between the convergent flanges of the member 2 so that said bracket is slidably supported in said member 2. A screw bolt 7 passes through said bracket and engages a nut 8 and this screw passes through the slot 4 and abuts the member 1. One side of the nut engages the rib 5 and is thus prevented from rotating when the bolt is turned. It will thus be seen that by tightening this screw the bracket 6 will be held against movement in the member 2 and said member 2 will be held against movement in the member 1. Thus the members 1 and 2 may be held in a position with their jaws gripping the edges of the-frame so that the entire device is clamped to the frame and the curtain bracket is also held in adjusted position.
The curtain pole bracket 9 is formed as usual and has its lower end formed with or connected to the upper flange of the member 2.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is A combined curtain pole and shade roller holder comprising a pair of channel-shaped members slidably engaging each other, a jaw on the outer end of each member for engaging the window frame, the inner member having a slot therein, a shade roller bracket having its body part of channel shape with its flanges engaging the flanges of the inner member, a screw bolt carried by said body part and passing through the slot and engaging the outer channel member, a nut on said bolt and a curtain pole bracket connected with the upper flange of the inner member.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
FRANK M. LOKOMETZKI.
