Be 1t known that l, dunner VALKER, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing at The Manor House, Cleckheaton, in
the county of York, England, have invented endless aprons, or sets of tapes running kface to face which are sometimes employed for conveying fibrous material through Inachines of this class.
The invention consists in the combination of Va perforated cylinder, or a series of perforated cylinders and traveling apron so arranged as to act as a combined. circulator and scourer and conveyer.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is an elevation and Fig. 2 a longitudinal section of the machine.

In the example shown, a row vof perforated cylinders A. A, are mounted inbearings in the tank C, the lower portions of the cylinders being submerged in the scouring or other liquid when the machine isin operation. These cylinders are convenientlyT driven from main driving shaft D by chains o", 58, o, b1", with the exception of the cylinder at the feed end of the machine which is driven by the frictional contact of the endless apron or conveyer B. The latter passes over feed roller and between groups of rollers bl which retain it in contact with or in proximity to the under part of the cylinders A. One of the delivery rollers b2 is situated in proximity to a pair of squeezing rollers'E, El, to which the scoured or otherwise treated material is forwarded by the conveyer and delivery rollers. -These squeezing rollers are driven by toothed wheels c el and the conveyer B is driven partly by a chain o and partly by frictional contact with the cylinders A. Situated between the delivery roller b2 and the squeezing rollers is a bar or plane e2 which directs the material between the squeezing rollers. The perforated cylinders are .fitted with internal mechanical devices whereby the inside of such cylinders may from time to time be flushed with liquor and' so assist the scouring or treating of the material as it is passing through the machine. This is effected by fitting into the interior of such cylinders a number of troughs a2. the arrangement being su ch that each trough when yentering the liquor sh vrl which it releases in the process of rotate.; and thus serves to agitate the feuer bv suf-h air bubbling up through the perforetions Eu the cylinder and through the lim, the tank. lEach trough having` re eased the air contained therein becomes filled with the scouring or other liquid which is also discharged through the perforations the uylinders in the process of rotation and continually agitates the liouor and thereby serves to assist in the scouring or otherwise treating of such material as may be passin between the cylinders and conveyor'.
