IMPROVEMENT IN CHERRV-STONERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 135,050, dated January 21, 1873.
To all whom-itmay concern:
its general construction and form, consisting of a shaft or handle, A, and three shank-like points, B B B.
This device is constructed of metal, in three partsa loop, Fig. 2; a hook, Fig. 3; and a coil, Fig. 4, which, being adjusted with pliers, binds the loop and hook firmly together, as shown in Fig. 1, letter A.
The object of this invention or device is to afford an efl'ective and expeditious means of removing the stones and stems from cherries with the least crushing of the fruit, which is accomplished in the following manner;
The cherry being held by the thumb and fingers of one hand, and the device with the thumb and fingers of .the other hand, the points of the instrument are inserted into the apex of the cherry, and with one movement of the hand holding the device the stone and stem are removed together.
What I claim as my invention is-- The part A bent so as to form an enlarged head, and two prongs, B, in combination with the third prong bent, as shown, to form a loop atits upper end to engage the part A, when the said parts are secured together by a wire fastening placed below the enlarged part A, as described.
