CASKET-HANDLE.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, ALBERT R. Bn'r'rs and PAUL J. GOKE, citizens of the United States of America, and residents of Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Gasket-Handles, of which the following is a specification.

In casket handles it is desirable for appearance sake to conceal the hinge that connects the handle to its lug plate. But the means by which this has heretofore been attained, have been weak and inconvenient to construct.

It is the object of our invention to provide a casket handle with concealed joints that is strong and'easy to manufacture.

This object is attained by the means described in the specification and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1, is a front view of a casket handle embodying our invention.

The casket handle embodying our invention comprises a metal plate A, having near its lower end a central aperture which is Specification of Letters Patent.

The ournal pin has a central loop or offset, the sides of which may be compressed to facilitate the passage of the ends I), I) through the perforations in the lugs e, e, b, b.

The lug plate A has perforated bosses ((1 ,11 to receive screws by means of which the lug plate is attached to the casket.

Having thus described our invention, what we claim is In a handle of the class described the combination of a lug-plate having an aperture, inwardly projecting perforated lugs at the ends of the aperture, a handle having at one end perforated lugs adjacent to the lugs of the lug-plate, and a wire having straight ends and a central. off-set adapted to be compressed to facilitate insertion of its ends v through the perforations.
