My invention is a railroad rail made of common iron With steel Welded Onto the ends, so that thev may not be battered, but stand as Wel] and as long as steel rails.
Description of the Drawing Forming Part of this Specification. Figure l is a perspective view OI the rail with the steel Welded on, and a joint showing a rail in position on a railroad; Fig. 2, a crossseotion through the rail and joint; and Fig.'3, a cross-section through the steel end, showing` the rail jointed together.
General Description.
Aare the rails; B, the steel pieces Welded onto the ends. These rails, with the steel pieces Welded onto their ends, may be used with the old-fashioned chair, or with such a joint as shown, or any other joint.
Claim.
I claim as my invention- A common iron rail with steel pieces Welded onto its ends, substantially as described.
