Specification of Letters Patent.

Application filed August 6, 1919. Serial No. 315,654.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MICHAL KAozMARxK, a citizen of Ukraine, residing at Pottsville, in the county of Schuylkill and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Lamps, of which the following is a specification.
The primary object of the invention 1s the provision of a lamp adapted for general use where an ornamental structure is preferable, the invention employing a plurality of light sources for shedding beams downwardly around the structure.
A further object of the invention is to provide a multiple light for shedding beams or light rays outwardly and downwardly, the passing of the light upwardly being partially obstructed.
With these general objects in view, my invention consists of an electric lamp structure that is easy and inexpensive to manufacture but ornamental in appearance and the same will be fully described in connection with the accompanying drawings.

Fig. 3 is a top plan view of the base with the lamps and upper members removed,

Figs. 8, 9 and 10 are plan views on a smaller scale of modified forms of body portion or reflector faces.
My invention comprises a circular base 10 having a central mounting portion or foot 11 upon the bottom thereof and an annular groove 12 in the top of the base forming a circular central platform 13 and an outer marginal rim 14. A plurality of lamp sockets 15 are secured spaced apart within the groove 12 having suitable electrical connecting wires 16 leading through passages 17 in the base to the exterior thereof for connection with any suitable source of electrical supply.
A body portion 18 is provided in the shape of an inverted truncated pyramid having six sides Vor faces 19, an annular iiange 20 projecting from" the body and seated upon the platform 13 and rim 14 being secured in position by screws 21. Perforations 22 are provided in the flange 20 outwardly of each face 19 through which the sockets 15 are adapted to project for receivlng incandescent lamp bulbs 23.
A circular mirror 24 upon each face19 of the body 18 is positioned inwardly of each lamp 23 for reflecting the rays of light outwardly and downwardly over` the body flange 20. The foot 11 may be seated or secured uponl the top of a post 25 or a pedestal 26, as indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 1 of the drawings.
A dished plate 27 is centrally 'mounted Aupon an upper extension or neck 28 of the body 18 sloping downwardly and outwardly after the manner of a roof and preferably formed of semi-transparent material for obstructing the upward passage of the rays of light from the lamps 23. The body 18 is preferably hollow having an inner chamber 29 through which a bolt 30 axially passes extending through a b'ore 31 in the neck 28 and a perforation 32 in the plate 27 with a head 33 upon the upper end of the bolt 30 and a carrying handle 34 upon said head. A lock nut 35 is threaded upon the lower end of the bolt 30 for maintaining the base 10, body 18 and plate 27 assembled in lamp formation. The complete operation of the invention will be apparent from this description of the manner of assembling the same, it being seen that the rays of light from the lamps 23 will be reflected by the mirrors 24 and obstructed invention herein set forth is believed preferable, it will be understood that minor changes may be made therein without departing from the spirit of my invention.
In Figs. 8, 9 and 10, l show how the reflector body may be formed with the reflector faces 18- triangularly arranged as in F ig. 8, in the form of a square 18b as in Fig. 9 or five-sided figure 18C as in Fig. l0.
What I claim as new is l. A lamp comprising a base having an annular groove, a hexagonal body provided with a flange secured upon said base with perforations outwardly of the faces of the body above said groove, electric lamp sockets mounted Within the groove upwardly projecting through said perforations, incandescent lamps within said sockets .and reflectors inwardly of the lamps upon the faces of the body.
2. A lamp comprising a base having an annular groove, a hexagonal body provided with a flange secured upon said base with perforations outwardly of the faces of the body above said groove, electric lamp sockets mounted within the groove outwardly projecting through said perforations, incandescent lamps within said sockets, refiectors inwardly of the lamps upon the faces of the body, a dished plate of semi-transparent material centrally mounted upon the body overlying said lamps, a bolt axially secured through said body, base and plate and a carrying handle attached to the upper end of said bolt.

A device of the class described comprising a base having an annular groove in its upper face providing a central platform and a marginal rim, a plurality of lamp sockets spaced apart in said groove in upright positions, an inverted truncated pyramid mounted upon said platform having a face thereof inwardly of each socket, an incandescent lamp in each socket and a re- Hector for the lamps upon the adjacent faces of said pyramid.

A device of the class described comprising a base having an annular groove in its upper face providing a central platform and a marginal rim, a plurality of lamp sockets spaced apart in said groove in upright positions, an inverted truncated pyramid mounted upon said platform having a face thereof inwardly of each socket, an incandescent lamp in each socket and a re- Hector for the lamps upon the adjacent faces of said pyramid, an annular projecting flange upon the bottom of the pyramid seated upon said rim with spaced perforations through which said sockets extend, securing means between said liange and rim and means upon the pyramid above the lamps adapted for retarding the upward passage of the rays of light from the lamps.
5. A device of the class described comprising a base having an annular groove in its upper face providing a central platform and a marginal rim, a plurality of lamp sockets spaced apart in said groove in upright positions, an inverted truncated pyramid mounted upon said platformhaving a face thereof inwardly of each socket, an incandescent lamp in each socket, a refiector for the lamps upon the adjacent faces of said pyramid, an annular projecting flange upon the bottom of the pyramid seated upon said rim with spaced perforations through which said sockets extend, securing means between said iange and rim, an upwardly projecting central neck upon said fpyramid, a semi-transparent dished plate mounted upon said neck, a connecting bolt axially extending through said plate neck pyramid and base, a head upon the upper end of the bolt seated upon said plate and a carrying handle upon the top of the head.
