To all whom it may concern Be it known that l, TONY ZYGIEL, a citizen of Austria, residing at Hamilton, Prov. of Ontario, and Dom. of Canada, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Dump-Cars, oi which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in freight cars and particularly to types adapted to convey coal, ore, broken rock and the like, having as its special objectthe provision of means whereby the load may be readily released from the car in an easy and convenient manner. 7
A further object is to provide a car having a floor capable of. being inclined, facilitating the unloading of the contents.
A still further object is to provide a barred or grate closure for the dumping end of the car, which is automatically released upon the depression of the floor.
These and other like objects are attained by the novel construction and combination of parts hereinafter described and shown in the accompanying drawings, forming a material part of this disclosure, and in which- Figure l is a longitudinal sectional view taken substantially through the center of a car made in accordance with the invention.

In the drawings, the numeral 10 designates conventionally, ordinary types of wheels used upon the tracks of a railway, the same having extended between them axles 11, on which are mounted supportslz, carrying the frame of the car.

Obviously, by removing the detent pawl 28, the flooring drops, at which time staples 80, set in the outer. extending end of the flooring are lowered releasing a plurality of vertical bars 32,.these bars being forined with eyes 33 at the upper ends pivoting upon a short transverse bar 34-, set immediately above the central opening 35 formed in the end wall, the bars constituting in effect a gratmg preventing the contents of the car from moving outward, however, when the flooring depressed and the bars released, the material contained in the car allowed to pass unrestrictedly out, due to the angular position of the door atthat time.

From the foregoing it will be seen that an effective dumping device has been presented, especially applicable cars of the type described for carrying coal, crushed stone, ore
and other like commodities which it is de sired to dump in anexpeditious manner and without the usual shoveling and labor ordinarily employed.
