' A second object of the invention resides SEALING DEVICE.
To all whom it'may concern:
Be 1t known that I, rimmer GETHMAN, a citizen of the Unlted States,res1d1ng at Oklahoma, in the county of Oklahoma The primary object of the invention is to provide a device whereby the paraiii may the containers with in the provision of a novel mechanism for controlling the flow of the molten paraifin.
Another object of the invention is to provide a paraiiin applying device which is simple in construction,consists of few parts that may be readily assembled and disassembled, which are unlikely to become inoperative, which is simple in operation and which may be manufactured and sold at a minimum cost.
Other objects and advantages will become apparent from the following specification and attached drawing, and the inventive features explicitly defined in the appended claims.
lfhe invention consists of combinations, arrangement of parts, operations and general assembly which will be hereinafter described and illustrated.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a side elevation of a paraifin applying device constructed in accordance with my invention, parts being broken away to show the interior parts of the device, and,

Referring to the drawing wherein like characters of reference indicate like parts in all the views, the numeral 5 denotes a container for containing the paraffin and having an opening 6 in the bottom thereof.
For the purpose of melting the paraflin in the container 5' burners 7 are mounted in close proximity to the container.
Extending vertically in the container 5 is a reciprocable needle valve 8 which is movable through a guide 9 in the container and the top wall of the container itself. This valve 8 normally closes the opening 6.

'Longitudinally movable through the openlng 10 is a bar 13 which moves along the top of the container and through a guide 14:. An inclined groove 15 is formed 1n the upper face of the bar 13. A ball 16 1s engagedin this groove and is held in place by a set screw 17 carried by the valve which bears against this ball 16.- By adusting-the set screw 17, the tension of the spring 11 may be varied.
Mounted in bearings 18 on the container 5 is a disk 19 which is eccentrically connected with a link 20 that is pivotally connected with the bar 13. A handle 21 is attached to the disk 19, by'means of which the-bar 13 is moved through the opening 10.
t will be seen that by rotating the disk 19 the bar 13 Will be moved through the opening 10 in the valve 8 and this valve moved against the tension of the coil spring 11 which allows the molten parafiin to pass through the-opening 6.
This disclosure is merely for the purpose contrary, the invention may be modified in many different respects and that my limits of modification .are only governed by the subjoined claims. 7
What is claimed is V 1. In a sealing device, a receptacle for containing a liquid and provided with an outlet opening in its bottom, a valve guide mounted in the receptacle at one side thereof, a reciprocable valve movable through the guide and normally closing the outlet opening in the bottom of the receptacle, the valve being provided with a slot in its upper end, a bar movable in the slot and provided with an inclined groove, an anti-friction member disposed in the groove and engaging the valve rod, means for retracting i nally inovable through theopening and hav lng an inclined groove in its upper face, a
ball positioned in the opening in the valve and resting in theinclined groove, means for moving the bar whereby to raise the valve, and a coil spring normally urging the valve to a closed position.
