outer corner substantially in register with the slot 48 is another pin 52 operating within a slot 54, formed in a head 55 of a bar 56 to which is attached the end of a switch-bar 56 adjacent to the head, the other extremity of the bar being connected with a bracket 58, engaged with the switch point 14. Thus the bai` 56 acts as a distance rod between the switch point and through which they are moved by the mechanism described.
From the foregoing it will be Seen that when the plunger 33 is moved outwardly, it will engage with the upstanding post 38 and through its connections, cause the triangular plate'45 to rotate so that the end 49 of the spring element will move within the slot 48 into the position shown in broken lines in Fig. 3, thereby locking the switch points in either of their adjusted positions.
The modification illustrated in Fig. 7 shows a pair of fixed points 14 and 16 respectively, engaged by a pair of connecting Patented Oct. 28, 1919. I claim:
1.7111 a switch device, the combination with a pair of running rails and a pair of switch points cooperative therewith, of a plate pivoted remotely from said switch point, an arm formed with said plate adapted to be operatedby the car passing over said rails, a triangular plate pivoted to one of said rails adjacent to said switch point, connections between said plates, a connecting bar extending between said switch points, and means formed with said triangular plate whereby said connecting bar is op erated upon movement being communicated to the iirst named plate.
