GAME.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Sept. 2, 1919.
- l Application filed April 24, 1919. Serial No. 292,256.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM F. WAGNER, a citizen of theUnited States, residing at North Braddock, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Game, of which the following is a specification.
The device forming the subject matter of this application is a game of that general type in which a ball or marble rolls over a platform provided with openings, the game being in the nature of a chance devlce.
One object of the invention is to provide a structure of this kind which may be manufactured at trifling expense.
Another object of the invention is soto improve the structure that the element of chance will be introduced to a greater ex tent than has been done in similar structures. I
It is within the province of the disclosure to improve generally and to enhance the utility of devices of that type to which the invention appertains.
With the above and other objects in vlew, which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that, within the scope of what is claimed changes in the precise embodiment of the invention shown can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention.
'3 In the accompanying drawings-- Figure 1 shows in top plan, a game ponstructed in accordance with the invention; Fig. 2 is a section on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1; and Fig. '3 is a section on the hne 33 of Fig. 2.
In carrying out the inventionthere is provided a tube 1, open at both ends, the tube being turned over at its ends, if desired, to form reinforcing heads 2. A platform 3 13 disposed within the tube 1, the periphery of the platform being secured to the tube, and the platform being located intermedlate the ends of the tube. The platform 3 slants downwardly from its periphery to its center, the platform having a central opening 4 at its lowermost portion, and being provided with other openings 5, disposed in any desired manner about the central opening 4. The openings 4 and 5 may be numbered as desired, but the central opening 4 is preferably a zero opening. A trough-shaped chute 7 is provided and is disposed at an acute angle to the platform 3, the chute including an inner wall 8 and an outer wall 9, the outer wall overlapping the tube 1 at its top and being secured to the inner surface of the tube. The lower edge 10 of the wall 9 preferably is spaced far enough from the platform 3 so that when a marble, indicated in dot and dash line in Fig. 2, traverses the chute 7 and rolls about on the platform 3, the marble will not strike the chute, should the marble move around the platform in to this construction, the element of chance is introduced prominently.
The structure forming the subject matter of thisapplication is exceedingly simple and com rises but three parts, all of which,
if desire may be made of tin and be soldered together.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed is A game comprising a tube open at both ends; a platform disposed between the ends of the tube and having its periphery secured to the tube, the platform slanting downwardly fromits periphery to its center, the platform having a central opening and being provided with other openings thereabout; and a trough-shaped chute disposed at acute angle to the platform and com- In testimony that I claim the foregoing as prising lnner and outer Walls, the outer wall my own, I have hereto aflixed my signature overlapping the tube at the top of the tube in the presence of two witnesses.
and being secured to the inner surface of WILLIAM F WAGNER. 5 the tube, the lower edge of the outer wall I Witnesses:
being spaced from the periphery of the T. M. MCKLONDELL,
platform WM. W. MCNAIR.
