citizen of the United, States, residing at Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have-invented a new and useful Mechanical Movement for Dough-Handling Machines, of which the following is a specification. g, V I w 7 My invention relates to that type of mechanical movements which are applicable to dough-handling machines'such as disclosed in Patent Nos. 986,413 and 993,138; and its object is to provide mechanical movement for imparting a plurality of oscillations or punches to one rotation of a punching disk'or member which handles or rounds u the'dough that is simple, positive, and efli cienth I V VI attain this object by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a plan view of my mechanical movement; Fig. 2, a vertical transverse sec-- tion.

Essentially, my mechanical movement comprises the rotary member 7 in which is rigidly mounted the drive shaft 8, a stationary or concentric gear 1 (which I have shown as being integral with the frame 1, though said gear may be separate and bolted or otherwise fastened to said frame) with a mating pinion 4, a movable or eccentric gear 3 with a mating pinion 5, a shaft 6 to which said pinions 4 and 5 are rigidly secured, and a crank-stud 9, which, as drive shaft 8 rotates, imparts the oscillations to the punching disk 3. I have shown a collar 10 to prevent the punching disk 3 from vertical dislodgment. A collar 17 is secured to the drive shaft 8to hold said drive shaft and co-acting parts in proper alinement. As rotary member 7 rotates the pinion 4 is caused to rotate due to the intermeshing with the stationary or concentric gear 1. If the ratios of the-train 4 and 1 and the train 5 and3 are identical there will be no actual rotary motion imparted to the disk 3, but merely an oscillatory movement due to the eccentricity of the shaft 9. The action of the stationary gearmovement (pinion 4 rotating and revolving around the gear 1 and the reaction of the movable gear-movement (pinion '5 rotating and revolving around the gear3 in case of equal ratios, equalize each other. In practiceit is desirable tohave the disk 3 make about sixteen complete oscillations or punches for each one rotation. -This punching action is necessary to punch the dough, and the rotary movement necessary to give the dough the rounding efi'ectand cause the dough to travel around the pan 2. For an example, in the drawing the stationary gear-ratio is 112:28 (112 teeth in the gear 1 and 28 teeth in the pinion 4) and the movable gear-ratio is 128:30 (128 teeth in the gear 3 and 30 teeth in the pinion 5).
