IMPROVEMENT IN PLOW CLEVlS-PINS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 129,355, dated July 16, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENDERSON MOKINEY,
of Earlham, in the county of Madison and in the State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Spring Olevis- Pin; and do hereby declare that the followin g is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon making a part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in a clevis-pin provided at its upper end with a continuation or spring which is bent forward and terminates in two hooks, to which may be attached short chains to connect with and support the evener or double-tree.
' In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a clevis with my pin, having spring and hooks, and Fig. 2 is a front view of the pin.
A represents the usual clevis, and B is the pin for fastening the same. The pin B is at its upper end provided with a continuation, G, which is made into a spring and bent forward as shown. hooks, a a, to which may be attached short chains, the lower ends of which are attached to the evener or double-tree, thus supporting the same. In some cases I may use a spring separate from the clevis-pin to support the double-tree or evener.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of the clevis-pin B, spring 0, and hooks a a, substantially as and for the purposes herein set forth.
