IMPROVEMENT IN PROCESSES FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF VINEGAR.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALVIN H. Low, of Tidi oute, in the county of Warren, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Mode of Manufacturing Vinegar; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof.
The nature of my invention consists in the compounding or mixing the following articles, and in the following manner, viz.: Take of pure water, sixteen (16) parts; sirup or mo.- lasses. 'one (1) part; common bakers yeast, one (1) part-make a compound having a temperature of about eighty (80) degrees Fahrenheit, and keep the compound thus made in a v warm atmosphere and in from ten to thirty days it will become good and wholesome vinegar, equal or superior to any now manufactured. The process of making may be facilitated after about forty eight hours from the time the mixture is made by adding a small quantity of old vinegar.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The process for the manufacture of vinegar,- consisting in the mixing of the ingredients above specified, at about the temperature of 80 Fahrenheit, and preserving them in warm condition, substantially as herein set forth.
