The hub-part G is to be bored lengthwise to hold the metallic sleeve, and the said hub-part, at its opposite ends, is extended and litt-ed into the tubular caps b b of two spiders, D D', formed and arranged as shown. Each spider is composed of a tubular cap, b, and a series of brace rods or arm/s, c c c c, ex-A tended from it, in manner as represented. Furthermore, each of the said rods or arms has a male screw, d, eut on it to receive two screw-nuts, e e, arranged against the outer faces of the rings E El, in manner as shown. These screws and nuts serve -to clamp the rings firmly against the spokes; also, to draw each spider inward closely upon the hub-part G; also, to dish or crown the wheel, as circumstances may require.
The said spiders and the connectionrings, arranged, constructed, and combined together by screws and nuts, as described, constitute a very strong and advantageous means of securing together the hub-part G and the spokes.
