With these and other objects'in view'this invention. resides in the novel features of construction, formation, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which Figure 1 is a..perspective-' view ofthe pre 1 ferred form of the device.
Fig.-
is a similar view taken opposite from Flg. 1.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view on line'33 of Fig. 2.
Referring to the drawing 1 and 2 designate the arms, said arms belng formed from a single strip of sheet metal bent intermediate its ends'so that said arms will lie adjacent each other. The arms 1 and 2 are provided adjacent recesses 3 so as to provide upper and lower shoulders 4 and 5, tlie purpose of which will appear later. 1 v
A band 6 is provided and is engaged in V the recesses 3, said band having its respective invention, such as will enart to which it aprigidity thereto,

.upper and lower edges engaged with the against spreading at their upper ends, but
will permit the arms to spread below the band when the pin is engaged on a line.
The arms 1 and 2 are each provided with a longitudinal corrugation 7 so as to add said corrugations stopplng at polnts adjacent the shoulders. 5. The adjacent ends of the band 6 are beveled as at 8 so as to provide a space for the upper end of the corrugation on the adjacent arm, while the upper end of the corrugation on the other arm engages in the corrugatlon 9 formed in the band 6. I What is'claimed is 1. A clothes pin, comprising a single strlp of metal having a bend intermediate its ends topro vide a neck and coextenslve-resillent the recesses to prevent the spreading of. the
neck.portions, whereby to insure the resili ence'of the arms. 4
. 2. A clothes pin, comprising a slngle strap- 5 of metal having a bend intermediate itsen to provide a neck andcoextenslve resilient cut out to provide rounding the neck and wholly occupying the recesses to prevent the spreading of the neck portions, whereby to insure the resilience of the arms, extending from the extremities of the arms and below the reinforcementband.
and longitudinal reinforcing ribs In testimony whereof, I aflix my signature,
in the presence of two witnesses.
