This invention relates to attachments for printing presses whereby letters canbe printed upon a printing; press so they liave theappearance of a typewrittenletter.
The attachments include an auto1i1atically-- shiftable ribbon which -is impressed on "the j paper to print inthe same way that a ty pe writer prints. "This ribbon is carried upon a pair of spools and means is provided for steadying the spools'wlien the ribbonisfbeing shifted.
A protecting layer of material or frisket sheet is stretched from gripper bar togrip per bar to avoid smudging of the paper by the ribbon. These features will more fully appear in the specification following.
