J. ADDISON BUGKWALTER, OF ROYERS FORD, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOB TO FRANCIS, BUGKWALTER 8t 00., OF SAME PLACE.
IMPROVEMENT IN COVERS FOR MAGAZINE-STOVES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 127,458, dated June 4, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J. ADDISON BUoK- WALTER, of Royers Ford, in the county of Montgomery and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in (lovers for Magazine-Stoves; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and
ters in both figures.
This invention consists in the combination with a sliding rod by which the cover of a magazine-stove is opened, of a stop, or equivalent device to hold it open, as hereinafter described.
Ain the drawing represents the top of a magazine-stove, constructed with an open mouth, a a, as usual in stoves of this class, through which supplies of fuel are admitted to the magazine B. O is the cover which closes the top of the magazine. This cover is hinged to the stove, as shown at D, and has formed upon or securely attached to it an arm, E, to which is hinged the rod F, provided with a lip, G. H is a stop, and I a guide, to keep the lip close to the stop when the cover is open, and prevent its accidental disengagement.
In the operation of these devices, when the fuel is to be fed to the magazine, the rod F is pushed back until the lip G having passed beyond the stop H, rests against the said stop, and thereby maintains the cover Gin the position shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1. When the magazine has been filled the lip is disengaged from the stop, and the cover falls into the position shown in full lines.
\Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is
The combination, operating as described, of the rod F by which the cover (3 is opened, and the stop H, or its equivalent.
J. ADDISON BUOKWALTER.
