IMPROVEMENT IN SHIELDS FOR CORNS, &c.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 127,454, dated J nne 4, 1872.
This invention relates to a new arrangement of a plaster for application to corns or bunions; and has for its object, by a judicious combination of parts, to obtain the requisite soothing or curative. and adhesive properties. The invention consists in the combination of an annular or other shaped porous or healing plaster with an adhesive-plaster, the latter serving to retain the former in place and therebyto insure its effectiveness.
A in the drawing represents the porous or healing plaster, of annular or other suitable form, prepared in the well-known or suitable manner, to act soothingly or as a curative on the inflamed borders or other parts of a corn or bunion to which it is applied. B is an adhesive'pla-ster of circular or other form. The healing-plaster A is combined and. connected with the adhesive-plaster, as shown, so that it will be held in place by the same. A piece of muslin or other fabric may be placed over the face of this compound plaster, to prevent its adhesion to other things as long as not in use.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent A corn or bunion shield, consisting of the combined healing-plaster A and adhesive-plas' ter 13, substantially as herein specified.
BENJAMIN BRANDRETH.
