The present invention relates to scre'ens 'for windows .of houses and the like and consists in the combinations and arrangements of elements hereinafter described and particularly set forth in the accompanying claim.
The invention has for its purpose to provide af window structure having a screen slidably concealed thereinand adapted to into position for screening the window opening when the window vis raised.

Referring to the construction in further detailgand wherein like reference characters designate corresponding parts in the dieient views shown, 4' designates the window frame having slidably mounted therein the usual upper and lower sashes 5 and 6, and the wall structure 7 beneath said frame is formed with a chamber or recess 8 to receive and conceal the screen 9, having a suitable form of rigid frame 10, as shown.

Said frame portion consists of a pair of metal strips suitably connected to bind the edge of thi` screen, and at its middle portion both strips are separated to receive the pair of pins 16 that are adapted to be engaged by the spring-pressed latches 9, for raising the sash into position. The two latches 11 are provided with a pair of hand-engaging members 18 working in slots 17 for the purpose of disengaging the latches from the pins 16 when it is not desired to move the screeny into position z'. e. when weather conditions do not necessitate the use of a window screen.
.It is obvious that those skilled in the art may vary the detailsfof construction and arrangement of parts without departing from the spirit of my invention, and therefore I do not wish to be limited to such features 'except as may be required by the claim. Y
