To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, Cam. H. BIBSELL and Ema SMITH citizens of the United States, and residents of Syracuse, in the county, of Onondaga and State of New York, have invented a certain new 'and useful Electrical Appliance, of which the following is a specification.

In use, the base section 10 may be mounted upon the surface of the ground, and in such case the supporting plate 3 for the receptacles 1, 2 and the u per section 12 of the housing are mounte directly upon the base 12, as seen in Fi 2. But in case of underground wirin t e base 10 is located below the surface 0 the ground, the cap piece 18 mounted thereon and the-supporting plate 3 for the sockets 1, 2 and the upper section 12 of the casing are mounted upon the extension'base 11, carried at the upper end of the pipe 17, the lower end of which is mounted in the cap piece 18. Hence, the housing section 12 and the socket or receptacle supporting plate 3, by means of our invention, can be used interchangeably for surface wirf or for underground wiring. Y

What we claim is:

1. An electrical appliance comprising an electrical receptacle, a support therefor, and a housing including an upper section and two lower sections or bases upon which the support and the upper section are interchangeably mountable, and a cap piece connected to one of the lower sections or bases, which cap iece is interchangeably mountable witht e upper section on the other base, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
