and the-air is driven by the blast wheels downwardly and backwardly upon the water, causing the vessel to travel forwardly yat a high speed, the suction through the Y changes of detail may be made without departing from its scope. For example, while thebodily rotative wheel casings are shown, it is obvious that any means for temporarily closing their bottoms to facilitate starting may be employed.
Nor do I limit myself, in the broader aspects of the invention, to a structure in which the blast wheels are yso located as to enter the water when the boat is at rest and thus require means for temporarily closing the bottom `of the casing. While a pair of blast wheels'is shown, a single wheel properly disposed would come within the scope of the invention. Again, the particular shape and size of .the discharge opening from the wheel casing is discretionary. Y
I claim as my invention-.
. 1. In a hydroplane,in combination, a hull, a blast wheel at leach side of the hull, a casing covering each wheel,A and an air duct open through the prow of the lhull and leading to each wheel casing. Y
A2. In a hydroplane, in combination, a hull, a blast wheel at each side of the hull, a rota- Vtively adjustable segmental casing covering eachY wheel, and jan -air duct open through the Vprow of the hull and leading to cach wheel casing. i Y
3. lIn a hydroplane, in combination, a hull, a blast wheel at each side of the hull, a casing covering each wheel and normally open at the bottom, means for inclosing the bottoms of the wheels, and an air duct open through the prow of the hull and leading to each wheelV casing. Y
4. In a hydroplane, in combination, a hull, a .blast wheel at each side lof the hull, a rotatively adjustable segmental casing covering each wheel, an air duct-openthrough i' the prow ofthe hull and leading to each wheel casing, and means for adjusting the casings,
5. In a hydroplane, 1n combination, a hull,

In a hydroplane, in combination, a hull, a blast wheel at each side of the hull, a casing covering each wheel, an air duct open through the prow of the hull and leading to each wheel casing, a horizontally pivotcd rudder blade at each side of the hull, and means for independently operating the rudder blades.
8. In a hydroplane, in combination, a hull, a blast wheel at each side of the hull, a casing covering each wheel, an air duct open through the prow of the hull and leading to each wheel casing, a horizontally pivoted rudder blade at each side 0f the hull, and means for maintaining the rudder blades normally in the same plane.
9. In a hydroplane, in combination, a hull, a blast wheel at each side of the hull, a casing covering each wheel, an air duct open through the prow of the hull and leading to each wheel casing, a horizontally pivoted rudder blade at each side of the hull, and means for normally maintaining the rudder blades substantially horizontal.
10. In a hydroplane, in combination, a hull having the bottom of its prow upwardly inclined and the after part of its body tapering horizontally, its deck and bottom meeting at the stern, a pair of incased side blast wheels, and air ducts leading from and open at the prow and discharging into the wheel casings.
