RAY, or'sm rninwcisco, can'rronm To all 'whom'z't may concern: Be it known that I, WV citizen of the United States, residing at the city and county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Oil-Burners, of WhlCh the following is a specification.
,This invention relates to oil burners and pertains especially to rotary burners o t type shown and described in my pending application Serial Number 874,754, filed November 30, 191.4, entitled Oil burners.
One of the objects of the present invention is to provide a hollow motor shaft having a stationary fuel oil feeding pipe passing therethrough to permit delivery of the oil to the rotary atomizer through the shaft, thus permitting partial coolin of the motor, and similar] a pro-heating oi the oil .before delivery to t e atomizer. Another object of the invention is to provide means for center ing and adjusting the osition of the oil deliverin ipe with re ation to the interior wall 0 t e hollow motor shaft. A further object is toinclose the motor proper with an open-ended casing and to connect one end of said. casing with the suction side of the fan; in this manner causing a constant in-rush of air around the motor which cools the same andsimilarly raises the temperature of the Further objects will hereinafter appear. The extension 8 is preferably provided with a screw plug 16 at its outer end which may be removed as occasion demands, to permit insertion of a. cleaning rod or like means not here shown. A rod inserted at this point may be forced directly through the pipe 35 and willin this manner remove any carbonized oil or other substance which might have a tendency to choke the feed pipe. The

For the purpose of further decreasing the temperature of the motor an open-ended air around the motor is thus insured'which not only reduces its-temperature, but it also causes a considerable increase in thev temperature of the air before it passes through the fan and reaches the fire zone.
-The materials and finish of the several parts may otherwise be such as the judgment and experience of the manufacturer may dictate.
I wish it understood that various changes in form, proportions and minor details of construction may be resorted to within the scope of the appended claims, and that I do not wish to limit myself to the specific design and 'constructionhere shown.
Thefurnacepljate' together with the hinge mounting of. the fan casing-and the oil connections formed through the ,hinges, although shown, does not form a part of the present application as it is more thoroughly illustrated .and claimed in my co-pending application, Serial No, 96,108, filed May 8-, 1916, entitled Oil burner.
Having ,thus deScribed-niy. invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is.:.-.
. 1. In an oil burner, the combination with .an electric motor having a hollow shaft,-of an atomizing, head secured on one. end of the shaft, a stationary pi-peextending through the hollow'shaft to-deliver oil to the atomizer and adapted to cool the. motor and heat the oil, and means for adjusting. the oil delivering pipe with relation to the interior wall of the hollow shaft.
2. The combination with a motor, a hollow motor shaft, and an atomizing cup secured on the shaft, of a stationary pipe ex tending through .the shaft and having one end extending into the atomizer, means fordelivering oil to the stationary pipe, and adjustable means engageable with the stationary pipe .to spring or bend it-with relation to the interior of the hollow shaft. p
3. The combination with a motor, a hollow shaft ,,and a'n-atomizing cup secured on the shaft,'-of a stationary pipe extending through the shaft and haying one end extending intothe atomizer, a stationary sup} port for the opposite end of the pipe, having a passage formed therein communicating with the pipe, means for. delivering oil to said passage andfa plurality of set-screws in the support engageable with the pipe to adjust its position withrelation to the interior of the hollow shaft.
4. In an oil burner, the combination with a hollow shaft, of means for revolving the shaft, a centrifugal atomizer on. one-end of the shaft, a stationary pipe extending through the shaft and opening into the stationary pipe.

In an oil burner, the combination with ahollow shaft, of means for revolving the shaft, a centrifugal atomizer on one end of the "shaft, a stationary pipe extending through the shaft and opening into the atomizer, a stationary member supporting the opposite end of. the pipe, said .member having a passage formed'therein communicatingwith the pipe, means for delivering oil to the passage, means for regulating the flow ofoil through the passage, and means carried by the support for centering the pipe with relation to the interior of thehollow shaft and the atomizer. The combination with a motor, a hollow shaft, a fanand an atomizing cup-se cured on the shaft, of a stationary pipe extending throughthe shaft and havingone end extending into the atomizer, an open ended. casing inclosing the motor, said casing having one end opening to the atmosphere and the opposite end connected with:
