To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMEs A. COHOON, of Toledo, in the county of Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented 'a new and useful Improvement in Grain-Separators, of which the followin g is a specification:
My invention relates to that part of a gra-inseparator known as the shaking-shoe; its object is to adjust the angle of the screens or sieves to adapt .themlto the Varying conditions of the gra-in; and my improvement consists in combining a screen with the shaking-shoe of a gram-Separator by means of sockets and pins instead of by the grooves heretoforeordinarily employed for this purpose.
I have found, by experience, my improved and in another position by dotted lines.
The screen can readily be removed, replaced, i
or adjusted at any angle desired by inserting one end between two of the pins a and sliding the lugs b into one set of the slots c until they drop into the sockets c',where they are securely held.
I have found this mode of construction cheap, simple, and effective.
It is obvious that any required number of screens may be used, and their angle of inclination varied relatively to each other.
I claim as my invention- The combination of the shaking-shoe and screen by means of pins, lugs, and sockets,.
