The operation of portable fire extinguishers of this general class is so well understood as t0 require little description. Chamber 2i is charged with a suitable fluid chemical, for instance tetrachlorid, and chamber 4. is
charged. through inlet 13 with air under suitable pressure. When the extinguisher is to be put into service, valve 1.2 is opened thereby admitting conmressed air to the top of thefluid body in chamber El and .forcing the fluid out through tube 7 .inclination of the extinguisher body in any direction causes the discharge end of tube 7 to move to the lowermost part of chamber 3 and thus insure complete draining of its contents. A portable fire extinguisher comprising s. tank artitioned to form an air' chamber at one en and a chamber for a fire extinguishing fluid at its opposite end, the tank formed o0 between its ends with an external indenta 'tion, a4 pipe bridging the indentation and connecting the two chambers, and a. valve for the pipe with said valve located in the tank indentation.

A portable fire extinguisher comprising a tank partitioned between its ends to form an air chanil'ier'at its: lower end und a charnbcr at its upper end for confining a lire extinguishing fluid, the tank indented externally between its ends, a pipe bridgingthe indentation and extending from the air chamber to the upper portion ol the fluid elia/miner, a valve for the ipe with said 'valve located in the tanlc imentation, an outlet for the fluid chamber, anilla tube extending 'from the outlet into close proximity to the bottom of the fluid chamber.
