EBASER.
Application filed June 19,
To all whom z't-may concern:
Be it known that I, PERCY LLOYD CILLEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at La Crosse, in the county of La Crosse and State of Wisconsin, have invented new and useful Improvements in Rotary Erasers, of which the following is a specification.
Its object is to provide a simple and of fioient device of this kind, in which a circular eraser is revolubly supported upon one hand-lever and rotated through suitable connections by a second lever pivoted to said first mentioned lever.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is a side elevation of my improved eraser; Fig. 2 is a plan View thereof; and Fig. 3 is an enlarged detail sectional view taken on the line 33 of Fig. 1.
The device comprises a circular eraser A, a supporting lever B, upon which the eraser is journaled, an actuating lever C, and the intermediate and connecting means hereinafter described. The levers B and C are pivotally connected by the pintle 9 and their outer ends 10 and 11 form handles to be gripped by the user. The lever B is formed with la [a in am: 11.1112 xretrdflingl, 1 Error l nt nimated l uni at mtont: t t: rlrtlgs: t rzgllgdc s31 easiali lh ahailal l'e' )Lt jr 0311:1151 4] is: associated 2; 1 l: mm er lei] (l1 port 11; ea: 11 [arm [all 52 E lelzomz a1 5.5 i s mevnlolnltvl 1r: :mrmized at: n sasinll i noumla l :letvn a: sprnvivlia'r'oda wilt ttsnthj 1 (3 6) r 10 re let me 2. tell it 'wliit tthi'roellsl sl 7] .(r r itliei 0 am 2 edit llllfhe E i 53 it :5 rlsrrlu'm a warren '1 l. in an to re min-alts l maeloign g 1 itiiei'nl 15,: :i ]p'( :e:t d1 pip): 11H midi (l5 stem it) itersree 11 tom mash-s13. 31h 21min a ritrrtnradal) rinsed (ltlgsgs E! 9 and its ends bear against the inner sides of said handles to normally spread the same apart. The quadrant 22 on the lever C engages the handle 10 at 26 and limits the spreading movement of the handles and a stop pin 27in the arm 22 is arranged to engage the arm 13 and limit the compression of said arms.
In use the device is grasped in the hand of the user, the handle 10 bearing against the palm of the hand and the arm 13 with the eraser A thereon extending outwardly over the index finger. A point on the periphery of the eraser is pressed against the matter to be obliterated and the handles 10 and 11 are repeatedly compressed and permitted to spread to rotate the eraser back and forth, so that the periphery of said eraser is chafed first one way and then another over the matter to be erased. When the eraser is worn out it may be removed, by detaching the thumb nut 21, and a new eraser may be substituted therefor.
It will be noted that the eraser A, being supported from the lever B, which rests against the palm of the hand, may be held in any desired position while the handle 11 iislmovedbv thecfingers and it will be further nrtotl: 1 rear. 1d 1 rgrereza no: ht: its} pix lldlr 1g can 124-! l (1: LDJEIQS! as: )td .a r matatio: r k Ifl or e nasrsr 111. it i; 11 El i1 [Li] a a meme el irrrrltiioin [a 5: LS( ear liri 1r g1. a lweheii c noplt zresclz )1 mi (t in m strdehoy: y in it M1 2 teasers 1 '1 it o Tempe 3 1] [ii 161 l r amp-a [is l; e railsy 1c nrtrcnec o llCtlIfig'Q: stagar e M1 a .e' amen/1th.] 1 E l :hlvinl; g ,d alterliliiol: ll :i n yi r .vrventirg m I, 1 l :lalaln la: :1 a me m [2011 i. else'sial t t' u qmebtx t jb 5] late; 1 $6] Mam isis I 1 1a a drive :o: on or e labs: :s etezri n'rloli 1, ln naihld .1 a
