on said shaft, a weight in one of said jambs disposed above the lower sash and suspended from saidjarm, a latch arm on said shaft, and a member of material destructible at and by a predetermined rise in temperature connected. at one end to said frame and at its other end engaging said latch arm; whereby upon the attainment of said predetermined ten'1 erature said member shall be ruptured thereby freeing said latch arm and said weight, and whereby said Weight in falling causes the closing of both of said sashes.
7. A window-frame, a vertically slidable sash in said frame, a suspension device, and a counterweight for'said sash, a second weight disposed above said counter-Weight, releasable means for suspending said lastnamed weight, and means operating upon and controlled by a predetermined rise in temperature for releasing said second Weight to over-balance said sash and move the same into closed position.
8. A window-frame, a sash vertically slidable therein, a suspension device, means for couliter-balancing said sash, and means operating upon and controlled by a predetermined rise in temperature for overbalancing said sash and thereby moving the same into closed position.
