DUSTLESS TROUSERS-CABINET.
To all whom it may concern: 7 7
Be it known that I, SIMEON ONEAL, a
citizen of the United States, residing at Lubbock, in the county of Lubbock and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements inDustless Trou sers-Cabinets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact-description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use thesame.
The invention relates to a dustless trouser cabinet. i
The object of the present invention is to" improve the construction of display cablnets and to provide a simple, practlcal, and
comparatively inexpensive dustless trouser display cabinet-for displaylng trousers and various other merchandise in stores for sale and adapted to keep such articles free from Y dust and capable of advantageously displaying alarge number of pairs of trousers and of enabling the same to be readily inspected without mussing the trousers. I
With these and other objects in view the invention consists in the construction and novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated I inthe accompanying drawings and polnted out in the claims hereto appended, it being understood thatvarious changes in the form,
proportion and minor details of construction maybe resorted to without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.
In the drawings a f Figure 1 is a side elevation of a dustless trouser cabinet constructed in accordance with this lnventlon,
Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view of the same, 7 r
Fig. 3 is a horizontal sectional view on the line 3-3 of Fig. 2,

dustless trouser cabinet comprising in its construction a central vertical standard 1 constructed of suitable material and'mounted at its lower portion'in a base 2 which'is provided with rollercasters 3 or the'like to enable the dustless trouser cabinet to be readily moved over a floor or other support ing. surface. The base which is preferably circular is provided with braces 4 consisting of webs extending radially from the central portion of the base and'adapted to firmly brace the standard 1 in its vertical position. The standard 1 is provided with a tapered upper end 5 to form a pivot or journal for a horizontal top 6 which is provided' at its under side-with a bearing plate 7 having a central bearingprecess 8 and diametrically arranged arms 9 pierced by,
screws or other suitable for securing the bearing of the cabinet.
The top 6 which is preferably of polygonal form has'straight marginaledges 9 which are arranged fastening devices the upper end of inclined upwardly tapered doors 10 which or bars 11.
The bars 11 which are suitably secured at are hinged to inclined strips their upper ends to the lower face of the top around the cabinet at a point midway between the top and bottom thereof. "The outer attaching suitable fastening devices to the inclined bars or strips and the doors which are n hinged at one edge at 16 and providedat'the opposite edge with a suitable lock or fastening device, are preferably equipped with mirrors 17 but the the walls of an upwardly tapered polygonal cabinet as clearly drawings. The horizontal ring or frame 15 is composed of a series of angularly' disposed portions 18 connected by short portions 19 and arranged in substantial parallel plate to the top 6' portions 13 are secured by doors may be of any other desired construction and they form shown in Fig.1 of the] in flush relation with."
the doors of the cabinet and constituting supports or stops for inclined sections or trouser supports consisting of upwardly tapered boards connected at their upper ends with the top (3 by hinges 21 having links 22 extending downwardly and in.- wardly from the top '6 and offsetting the upper ends of the trouser receiving sections or supports 20 from the outer edges of the top 6 as clearly shown in 1* ig. 2 of the drawing. The links. 22-have attaching portions 23 which are secured to the inner or rear faces of the trouser receiving sections 20. The trouser receiving sections normally rest against the horizontal frame or ring 15 and. the latter is supported by inclined braces 24 provided at their upper ends with eyes 25 to receive the ring or frame 15 and having angularly bent vertlcally dlsposed lower terminals 26 which engage sockets or openings 27 of a collar 28 mounted for rotary movement on the lower portion of the standard 1 and arranged upon a shoulder 29. The collar 28 is adapted to rotate on the standard to enable the cabinet to be turned in either direction for displaying any of its content-s. I
The trouser receiving supports or sections which are provided at their lower ends with handles or loops 30 are equipped at their upper ends with trouser clamps consisting of rock'shafts 31 journaled in suitable bearings 32 and 33 and provided with crank bends 3e carrying clamping plates 35. The clamping plates 35 which are provided with eyes 36 to receive the crank bends present relativelybroad fiat faces to the trousers and are adapted to engage thesame without creasing the trousers. The rock shaft is constructed of resilient material and the crank bend operates as a resilient or spring portion and is adapted to be placed under tension by a hand wheel 37 or other suitable operating means and the said rock shaft is secured in its adjustment by means of a *atchet wheel 38 and a spring actuatedpawl 39. The ratchet wheel is suitably fixed to the shaft and the pawl which is pivotally mounted at a point intermediate of its ends on the bearing 33 is yieldably maintained in engaged position with the ratchet wheel by a coiled spring iO. The trouser receiving sections are adapted to be'swung upwardly.
to a horizontal position to facilitate arranging a number of trousers on the sections and they are supported in such horizontal posi- 7 tion by bracesel constructed of rod metal or other suitable material and composed of upwardly diverging side portions 42 and a central lower stem 43 provided with a shoulder 4 1 adapted to engage the ring or frame 15 and preferably formed by a projecting hook shaped lug. The upwardly diverging sides 42 are provided at their upper ends with eyes 4:5 which are linked into suitable Furthermore, it will be apparent that the 7 top 6 and the mirror doors constitute an ornamental casing which is easily rotated on the standard to aflord ready access to any portion of the cabinet.
What is claimed is 1. A cabinet of the class described including a standard, a casing mounted for rotary movement on the standard and provided with door openings and having. doors, hinged sections carried by thecasing and located in rear of the doors and adapted to swing outwardly from the casing through the door openings to carry trousers placed thereon entirely beyond the casing, an open frame or ring-extending around the interior of the casing, inclined braces supporting the open frame or ring and connected at their lower ends with the standard and mounted for rotary movement to permit the frame to revolve with the casing, and means carried by the sections for engaging the open frame to support the sections in an eX- tended position.
2. A display cabinet of the class described comprising a standard, a top mounted for rotary movement on the standard, an open frame or ring surrounding the standard and also mounted for rotary movement, inclined bars secured at their upper ends to the top and spaced apart to form door openmgs, arms connecting the inclined bars with the said ring doors hinged to the bars and forming the walls of the cabinet, sections hinged to and depending from the top of ,the cabinet and arranged to swing outrotary movement on the standard, an open frame or ring surrounding thestandard and also mounted for rotary movement, bars se-' cured at their upper ends to the top and spaced apart to form door openings and connected at points intermediate of their ends with said ring or frame, doors hinged to the bars, trouser receiving sections hinged to the top and adapted to rest against'the frame 1 In testimony whereof I aifix my signature or ring and also arranged to swing outin presence of two Witnesses.
wardly through the door openings to carry 7 I the trousers outside of the cabinet and SIMEON O means for supporting the sections in their Witnesses:
extended positions, said means engaging the B'UFORD BOND, V
, opening frame or ring.
