To all whom it may concern Be it known that 1, CHARLES P. WATER-' oUs, citizen of the United States, resident of St. Paul, county of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, have invented certain new' and usefulv Improvements in Means for Mounting a Fire-Engine Pump, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a means for mounting a fire engine pump in the frame of the engine which will allow the rapid and convenient separation of the pump from the frame thehydrant and hose connections all dropping down with the pump frame when the separation is made to the endthat in the case of breakage a new pump can be easily and quickly installed or the brokenone removed and repaired. i V

The invention ous constructions and combinations, all as hereinafter described and particularly pointed out in the claims.

In the drawing, 2 represents the rails of the engine truck, made preferably of channel bar forgreat strength and rigidity and supported on a rear axle 3 having carrying wheels 4, both of which are driven through belts 5 connected with a suitable source of power, not shown. 6 is a pump of the rotary type having a driving connection 7 with the engine, (not shown) and having heads 8 on each side with flanges 9 secured by bolts 10 or other suitable means to the hose connections 11 projecting outwardly on each side of the truck. The heads 8 have upwardlyprojecting webs .12 formed thereon which are seated against blocks 13 in the channel bars 2 and bolts 14, preferably two on each side of the truck, pass through the webs 12 and'through the blocks-13 and the hose connections being ,below said rails. A reservoir 15 is arranged beneath the pump chamber and carried at each end by the heads 8, and to this reservoir the hydrant connections 16 are secured by suitable means, such as bolts 17.
The pump chamber will be disposed between the rails of the truck, as shownin l the figures, depending below these rails,
while the hydrant and hose connections will be entirely below the truck rails and when thefour bolts 14 are removed, the
pump, withall its connections, may drop down upon the ground and be entirely separated from the engine truck. A new pump can then be substituted or in case of breakage the one removed may be repaired, and
all the laborand'time usually required for removing the pump from the truck and replacing it will be avoided. consists generally in varibetweensald railsand having hydrant and hose connections beneath said rails, bolts securing said pump thereto, said bolts, when removed, allowing the pump and all its connections to drop down upon the ground between said rails.

The combination, with a fire engine truck having side rails, of a pumparranged between the rails and having hydrant and hose connections, webs projecting upwardly at each end of the pump and bolts passing through said webs and rails and forming the only supporting means for said pump on said rails.
3. Thecombination, with a fire engine truck having side rails extending beyond the rear axle and having an unobstructed space between them, of a pump fitting into the space between said rails and having 'webs provided with faces for seating against corresponding faces provided on said rails, said'pump having hose connections on each side beneath said rails and bolts passing through said Webs and rails and clamping them together, vsaid bolts,
