MYRIAD REFLECTOR.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented lFeb. G5, llll'?,
Application led February 12, 1916. Serial No. 78,086.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it"s known that I, LoUrs BERNARD Wons'rn, a citizen of the United States, and a. resident of Newport, in the county of Campbell and State ofKentucky, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement inlllyriad heflectors, of which the following is' a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification.
My invention relates to reflectors to be used for exhibition or theatrical purposes for the production of effects. 4
The object of my invention is to produce a myriad reflector reflecting surfaces, the same to be arranged in such a manner that the several reflections shall be projected at varying angles, the device itself beingarranged so that it may be rotated or otherwise moved so that the reflections may spectacular effect.
In the drawing the figure is an elevation of my" invention, the reflecting surface forming a polyhedron of numerous faces, the Adevice being thus substantially spherical in outline.
The letter B indicates mirrors or reflecting surfaces the same being arranged as shown to form a polyhedral figure. Each of the mirrors B is secured 'to the body of the device by means of an adhesive, the said adhesive also extending outwardly flush with the peripheral surfaces of the mirrors thus forming dividing or separating lines between said mirrors, the said lines being of non-reflecting material. The device is particular requirements, the
picturesque or scenic comprising a plurality ofv produce a scintillating and provided with a ring or other hanger A by means of which it may be suspended upon a cord or chain. The device is therefore as will be readily understood susceptible of rotation and also of a swinging motion.
It will be understood that the general outline of the device may be varied to suit the essential 'feature of my invention being the arrangement of mirrors or reflecting surfaces to forni a polyhedral figure, the said surfaces being separated from each other by non-reflecting material.
Having thus described my invention, what claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A myriad reflector comprising mirrors mounted to form a polyhedron bounded by a vconvex system of plane faces in combination `with means for suspending the device so that it may be swung and rotated simultaneously to produce myriadv reflections when light rays from an extraneous source are thrown thereon.
2. A myriad reflector comprising mirrors mounted to form a polyhedron bounded by a convex system of plane faces, said mirrors being separated from each other by a non reflecting substance, in combination with means for suspending the device so that it may be swung and. rotated simultaneously to produce myriad reflections when light rays from an extraneous source are thrown thereon.
