PATRICK M. DONOHO'O.
Binders Table for Har'vesters.

f i l im' V v f www PATRICK M. DONOHOO, OF ST. ROSE, WISCONSIN.
IMPRl-MENT IN BINDERS TABLES FOR HARVESTERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 121,090, dated November 21, 1871.
i to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, in which- Figure l is a side elevation of my said attachment, and Fig. 2 is a general plan or top view of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate like parts in both figures of the drawing.
The object of my invention is to provide a turntable attachment to reaping machines, so arranged as to recieve the grain as it is cut, and to that end the improvements consist in the combination and arrangement of devices hereinafter described and claimed.
In the drawing, A represents the frame, which may be made as shown, or may be of any suitable form that will recieve the operating parts. B is a vertical shaft, the lower end of which is stepped in a suitable bearing afxed to the center cross-girt of the frame. Firmly secured to the upper end of this shaft is a horizontal disk,
C, which is so arranged as to freely revolve with said shaft. Affxed to the lower side of the said disk is an annular gear, D, which engages a gearpinion, D', secured upon a horizontal shaft, E,
` which is secured in boxes affixed to the lower side of the ame. Mounted upon the outer end of this shaft is the main driving-wheel, F, so arranged as to rest upon the ground, and by which the frame is supported,` the opposite end of the said frame being hinged to the fram e-work or platform of the machine; thus, as said machine is moved forward, a rotary movement is imparted to the said disk by the rotation of the shaft E. Firmly secured to the upper surface of said disk, near its periphery, is a system of uprights, G, and to the upper end of which is affixed an annular platform, H, which is provided at its center withlan annular opening, J, the diameter of which is less than the diameter of the disk, as shown by dotted lines, Fig. 2.
In using my said attachment the frame thereof is hinged to the frame-work or platform of the machine in such manner as to bring the annular platform in proper position to receive the grain as it is discharged from the platform of the machine, the operators or persons binding the grain standing upon the said disk within the opening of the platform, whereby they are enabled to receive and bind the grain as it is deposited upon said annular platform.
Having thus described the nature and object of my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of frame A, shaft B, platform H, uprights G, disk C, gear D, pinion D", shaft E, andwheel F, substantially as and for the purpose described.
The foregoing specification signed by me this 23d day of August, A. D. 1871.
