The article of merchandise 4 has been shown as a coil of light wire in annular or ring-like form. -It may, however, be any other suitable article and of any other suitable shape, the only essential being that there shall. be two points of attachment which shall respectively lie between the slits 2, 2 and 3, '3.

In attaching thearticle 4 to the mount I or card the same is first placed against the card in the position shown in Fig. 2 of the drawing. The tongue '5 is then bent rearwardly along a line co-incident with the lower edge oft-he body '1. It is thenthreaded forwardly through the slit 2, passed around the front of the coil 4, andthreaded rearwardly through the slit 2. It" is then extended upwardly along the rear of the body 1 and threaded forwardly through the upper slit 3. It is. now passed around the upper part of the coil 4 and again threaded rearwardly through the slit 3, the free end of the same being located between the rear surface of the body 1 and that part of the tongue which extends along the rear of the body. Applied. as described, it will be seen thatthe coil 4 is firmly secured to the mount so that it is incapable of being readily detached by accident or by comparatively rough handling. The coil 4 is secured to the mount by the tongue 5 at two points, one between the slits 2, 2 ,and the. other between the slits 3, 3*. The free endof the tongue 5 being located between the body 1, and that portion of the tongue which extends along the rear ofthe body, is frictionally retainedin place and notlikely to he accidentally displaced, because said free end is held in substantially the same plane as the body 1 and any outward movement of the coil 4 will cause a binding action against the lower edge of the slit 3. .When, 'however, it is desired to remove the coil from the mount, it is simply necessary'to cut or tear the tongue at the places where it passes around the coil 4, or apply upward pressure to the tongue 5 adjacent to its upper bend, disconnect the same from the slit 3 and then draw the same gently from. a point adjacent the lower bend of the tongue so that it will pass freely through the slits 3 and 2*. When this is done, the coil is free to be removed and the served.

The embodiment ofmy invention illus- -mount is pretrated and described is that which is at present preferred by me. I realize, however, that various changes may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention and I do not desire to be limited to any of the details of construction except as I have limited myself in the appended claim. For example, the tongue at has been shown as integral with the body 1. This is not essential as it may be secured to the body in any suitable way or may in fact be entirely separate therefrom.

I claim A display mount having two pairs of transversely extending slits therein, and a. flexible tongue extending therefrom for retaining in place the article to be displayed, the said tongue being bent rearmtrdly,then threaded forwardly through the lowermost of said slits and passed around said article, then threaded rearwardly through the up permost of the lower pair of said slits, then extended upwardly and threaded forwardly through the uppermost of the upper pair of said slits, and then passed around said article a second time and threaded rearwardly through the lowermost of the upper pair of said slits, the free end of said tongue lying between said mount and the intermediate portion of said tongue which extends alongthe rear of said mount.
