This invention relates to suction cleaners of the type particularly applicable to indoor domestic. use and designed primarily for use upon lloors, floor coverings, stairs, and the like. Such machines enjoy a large amount of deserved popularity because of their light weight, easy operation, and eiiectiveness. In their preferred constructiomsuch machines comprise a casing having an operating nozzle or suction mouth, a pumping device in said casing communicating with said mouth and discharging into a dust bag or other separator, an electric motor operatively connected to the pumping device, and an operating handle connected to some part of said casing whereby it may be manipulated.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is: i

In a device of the character described, a portable casing having eljectri rally operated mechanism therein and also having an operating handle. an electriczswitch carried by said handle at'a point removed from said casing. an electric conduit connecting said switch and the, mcclmnism in the casing and running along the handle, a flexible cord or cable can cable constituting a. second electric conduit extending from said handle and connected througl'i said switch, and a pair of spaced coil-holding clips carried by said. handle between said switch and easing.

In a suction cleaner, the combination with a portable casing having a pump chamber and a discharge neck, an operating hairdletsecured to sa Ed casing, and a dust bag hav|ing one end secured to said neck and the other end to said handle, the pumping 1necl1- anism being electrically operated, of an ele trio switch carried by said handle at a;

poi t above said dust bag, a flexible cord or cable constituting an electric conduit extending from said cleaner, means carriedby the handle between said switch and easing adapted to have a portion of said electric conduit coiled thereon, and a second electric conduit passing along said handle from said switch to said casing.

In a suction cleaner, the combination with a portable casing having a pump chamher and a discharge neck, an operating handle secured to said casing, and a dust bag having one end secured to said neck and the other end to said handle, the pumping mechanism being electrically operated, of an electric switch carried by said handle at a point above said dust bag, a flexible cord or 3 casing, and a second electric conduit passingalong said handle from said switch to said casing.

In a device of the character described, -a portable casing having electrically oper- 1 ated mechanism therein and also having an operating handle, an electric switch carried 5' by said handle at a point removed from said casing, an electric conduit connecting said 3 switch and the mechanism in the casing and running along the handle, a flexible cord or cable constituting a second electric conduit connected to said switch, and means carried }by said handle between said switch and I casing adapted to havea portion of the sec ond electric conduit coiled thereon.
