Description

A. M. DAVIS. sHAvnm STICK HOLDER. APPLICATION FILED DEC. 19, {BIS- Patentefi June 6, 1916.
sHavIne-s'rror; HOLDER.
j To all whom it may concern.-
.Be. it known that I, iXLBERT M. DAVIS, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Shaving-Stick-Holders, of which thefollowing is a specification.
My, invention relates to shaving-stick holder-sand its object is to improve and simm plify the construction of -such devices in the manner hereinafter set forth.
My invention will be described by reference to; the accompanying drawings, in which,"
Figure 1 is an-eleyation of a shaving-stick holder constructed in. accordance with my inventlon. Flg. i) is. a longitudinal central section showing the container arranged at -.the bottom of the holder on the end. of a a shavingstick. Fig. 3 is a similar section showing the container advanced from its initialkposition to project the end of the shav- "ing stick fronnthe holder asthe stick becomes shortened by use.
Fig. 4c is a transverse. section taken on the line 4% of Fig. 3. Fig. 5 is an el vation of the container.
Fig. 6 is a longitui inal central section taken onthe line (346otl 1g. 5.
Fig. 7 is an elevation. of a modification. Fig. dis a longituilinal central section of the holder shown a min r. Fig- 9 is an elevation of said modil'icationshoiving the cap arranged on the bottom of. the holder.
y In the particular drawings selected for more full y disclosing my invention, 1 repre- .sents a cylinder, preferably of metal havinga cap 2 andadapted to receive a shavingstielr I'h Two diametrically-opposite longitudinally eXtending portions 4:, of the cyl inder are flattened as shown. in Fig. t and provided with}corrugations 5. The cupped container 3, also preferably of metal, is provided with two oppositely arranged spurs T, the container being of such diameter that it i will snugly fit the cylinder 1, and the spurs being preferably slightlynarrower than the circum lerential length of the corrugations.
'llhecontainer is' forced. over the lower end of the shavingstick and the stick and. worn .tainer then inserted into the holder, so that by the 0061)(2131111011 of the spurs with the cor munitions, retrograde movement of the stick aviltbe revented as the same is advanced. from time to time for use.
mum-4am Specification of Letters Patent.
-wl1en the stick is in use.
In both embodiments of: my invention the bottom of the cup-shaped container is substantially flush with the lower end otthe cylindrical body 1, 1 before the shavingstick has been advanced for cse, andthus constitutes a closure for the holder.
It will be obvious that various modifications may be made in the devicesabove particularly described without departing from the spirit of my invention.
I claim: a I
1. A shavingst'ick holder comprisinga cylindrical. body provided with corrugations, and a, cupshapod container snugly fitting the interior of cylindrical body and adapted te receive the end of a shaving stick, said container being provided with two diametrically opposite spurs projecting downwardly from its sides and arranged to eoiiperate with said corrugations for preventing retrograde mownnent of said shavingstiek as the same is advanced :tor
use.
A shavingstick holder comprising a.
cylindrical, body having two diametrically- Patented June 6, 193 5..
Application filed December 19, 1913. Serial No. 807,657.
till
terior of said cylindrical body oi l adapted to receive the and of a sharing ck, said container being prcn'idedv nu. spurs pro- ;iecting downwardly from its sides and arranged to cooperate with said corrugations forprevcnting retrograde movement of said shavingstick as the same is advanced for use.
3. A shaving-stick holder comprising. a cylindrical body provided with corrugations, and, a. cup-shaped container snugly fitting ,the interior of said cylindrical body and adapted to receive the end of said shavingstick. said container being: provided with spurs projecting downwardly ii'ulll its sides and arranged to cooperate with said corrugations for preventing retrograde inovement of said shavingstick as the same is adsubscribed my name this 18th day of Decem Vance-d for useand the bottom of said conber, 1913. tainelf being substantially flush with the lower end of said cylindrical body before said shaving-stick is advanced for use and Witnesses: constituting a closure for said body; E. B. ToMLINsoN,
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto G120. K. WoomvoRTH.
