My invention relates to improvements in a portable pneumatic pumping apIiara-us for el ailing earpets. draperies and the like.
The object oi luv invention is to construct a pneumatic pmnping apparatus in whieh the housingr or easingrs form a varuum chamber and a pnlsalion chamber and having a rihrating' member separatirn; said chambers, with means for operating said vibrating member togeiher with ysuitable valve mechanian. The said pulsaliou ehamber being made relati.el.v large to form a clearance space in addition to the 4space arually required for Jdie movements of the pumi'iing member.

The hood S has a, bottom section 1% which is adapted to encircle the base l and said hood also has a tlange 15 secured to the inner surface olf the same, which flange rests upon the rubber ring i6, which in turn rests upon secured to the base l. Thus making an air tight j uint between the hood S andthe hase.

Between the said ring and the side wall 2 of the base is clamped a liexible diaphragm 22, preferably iliade of leather. Said diaphragm has a eireulai' opening formed in the center thereof and the inner edge of said diaphragm 'is secured to the circular metal Coll-.ir 2, which latter and the diaphragm are referred to as a vibrating member. A clamping ring 24C secured to said collar 23, by screws or other suitable, means, securely holds the inner edge of said diaphragm to said Collar.
