IMPROVEMENT IN DENTAL DRILLS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 118,237, dated August 252, 1871.
To all whom fit may concern:
Be it known that I, ALEXANDER HARTMAN, of ilurt'reesborough,in the county of Rutherford and State oi' Tennessee, have invented a new and Improved D ental, Instrument for Drilling and other purposes 5 and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, Which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same,reierence being had toV the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification.
My invention consists in improving dental instruments, as hereinafter fully described and sub- .sequently pointed out in the claims.
readily and conveniently joined together by a double-threaded nut, C, Which Will admit oftheir ready separation. E is a rubber tube; F, the handle; and G, a sleeve-all detach ably connected together to inclose the rod D and allow of its rotation therein.
I am aware that coiled Wire and catgut have been used as a flexible connection 5 but these I do not claim.
Having thus described all that is necessary to a full understandingI of my invention,^what I esteem to be new and desire to protect by Letters Patent, is-
l. The rattan D applied in a dental drill as the flexible rod or connection by which the bur-holding mandrel is revolved.
2. The double-threaded nut C applied to holder B B and rattan D, Within a tube, as and for the purpose specified.
