To all whom t may concern."` j w Be it known that I, GEORGE RUBIN, a citizen of the United States, and a' resident of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Protective Containers for Bottles, of which the following is a specification. ,i j

Nursing' bottles now in use are usually of elongated cylindrical form with' a nipple applied directly over the mouth thereof.. wWith this sha-pe and arrangement it is nec,- essary to either hold the bottle, or to prop it up in order that the contents will flow therefrom and the bottle will be prevented from slipping away from the child. Furthermore, the bottle being of glassr it will readily break and might seriously injure the child. Most important of all, however, is the maintaining of the .bottle contents at a safe temperature. f
rlhe important objects of my kinvention are therefore to provide a protecting container for a nursing bottle which will maintain the temperature ofthe contents, andV which will properly support rthevbottle for proper nursing and which will prevent breakage of the bottle or injury to the child.
Another object is to provide a container which can be readily removed from the bottle and which when not in use can be folded into a minimum space.
My invention is preferably in the form of a double-walled bag preferably of flexible material such as rubber, which bag may be filled either with liquid ory with air and which, when so filled, will snugly surround Vthe inserted bottleto protect it and to maintain the temperature of its contents fora l long time.

The improved container is'preferably of flexible material such as rubber and is in the form of a bag comprising a central wall E surrounding the pocket F, and the outer wall G spaced away from the inner wall E to leave the annular chamber H. The inner wall E has substantiallythesame'shape as the bottle to be received'in order to snugly lit the bottle when itis inserted inthe pocket F. Y At the lower end of the bag is the opening I into pocket F and at the upper end is the openbe readily slipped upwardly into the bag through the opening I, the flange K readily deiiecting and stretching to allow such insertion. After the bottle is fully inserted against the flange L the flange K can readily be withdrawn into normal position loelow the base of the bottle to lock the bottle in the bag. Either before or after insertion of the bottle the annular compartment I-I of the bag can be filled with eitherliquid or air, a suitable valve controlled inlet M being provided. Usually water of the desired temperature is filled into the bag in order to keep the contents of the bottle at the desired' temperature until the bottle is empty. Also where the bottle is filled for future use 'the bag may be kiilled with hot water of a temperature such that thebottle contents will be-of the desired temperature when itis to be used. Of course, when the bottle is to be used immediately after lling merely filling the bag with air might be suiicient to maintain the temperature of the bottle contents during nursing.
