Application filed September 21, 1915. Serial No. 51,773.
In use the bulb is screwed on the rear end of the body and it is filled with water either before it isscrewed on, or, afterward, bysuction produced by alternate compression and relaxation of the bulb, the brush being dipped in water. In lathering the face this water, by slightly compressing the bulb, is discharged in small quantities as required. The air tube permits of air being admitted into the tube 4, without also admitting water thereinto when the bulb again expands due to the removal of the pressure. After the operation of shaving has been completed the bulb is removed from the rear end of the body, and the bristles are inserted within the bulb and the bulb is then screwed upon the front end of the body, and thus forms a very effective protector to surrounding articles against the moisture and soap left on the bristles.
1. A fountain shaving brush comprising a longitudinally apertured body, for holding the bristles at one end, and a rubber bulbous reservoir having a neck which can fit closely around either end of the body. 7 2. A fountain shaving brush comprising a longitudinally apertured bodyfor holding the bristles at one end, a tube secured 'in said aperture and extending between said bristles, an air tube communicating at one end with said tube and at the other end with the atmosphere, and a rubber bulbous reservoir having a neck which can fit closely around either end of the body.
