Be it known that I, ATARASHI TANAKA, a subject of the Emperor of Japan, residing at Los Angeles, in the county of Los Angeles and State of California, have invented a new and useful Dish-Washer, of which the following. is a specification. My invention relates to dish washers, and
the principal object of my invention is to provide a dish washer in which hot or cold does the, cleaning.
A further object of the invention is to provide such a brush with means whereby soap can be added to the water if desired and whereby either bar or powdered soap may be used if desired.
-Further objects and advantages will be made evident hereinafter.
Referring to the drawing which is for illustrative purposes only, Figure, 1 is a per spective View of my invention in place in a kitchen sink. Fig. 2 is a partial enlarged section of a portion of my. invention. Fig.
3 is a perspective view of a brush member,
" and Fig. t'is a sectional view of the soap the perforations being preferably formed I between individual bristles 19 secured in the I box equipped with a sack for utilizing powdered soap.
In these figures, 11 is a brush member which may be secured in the mouth of a re-.
ceptacle 12 which is provided with a handle 13 and which is supplied through a flexible hose 14 with hot water. 'from a bib 15 or cold water from a bib 16.
The brush 11 consists of a back 17 having a series of perforations 18 formed therein,
I back 17 by any of several well known insulating material, is placed. The hose 14 a is securedover an enlarged end'26 formed on the tube 25. The hose 14 has two) branches, one branch 27- connecting to the bib 15 and the other'branch 28 connecting to thebib 16.-

ing freely therein is a soap box 30. i This box r is preferably formed intwo halves 31 and 32, formed of hemi-spherical sheet metal members having 'a series of holes 33 therein,
the halves 31 and 32 being connected by a hinge 34: and locked together by a pin 35 and a hasp 36. Small pieces ofv soap, as shown at 37 may be placed in the box-30, or powdered soap,'washing powder, borax, or
other chemical substances, as shown at 38, may be placed in a fabric .sack 39 having a 6-5 closure 10 and this sack may be placed in the box 30.. The method of operation of the invention is as follows: The box 30 is filled with soap 37, or the sack 39 is filled with soap powder or the like 38, and the sack'39 is placed in the box 30. The box 30 is then placed in the receptacle 12 and the brush 11 is screwed into place.- The branches 27 and 28 are connected to the bibs 15 and 16 and l the supply of waterfiowing through the hose 14: is regulated by these bibs.- The water enters the receptacle 12 through the tube 25 impinging diagonally on the box 30 I and twisting it in the receptacle 12, so that 1 it rotates, thus constantly presenting fresh surfaces to the water.
The water runs into the bristles 19 through the holes 18. The brush is used to scrub and cleanse all sorts of dishes and cooking utensils, the bristles 19 loosening the grease and dirt which is dissolved by the soapywater. If desired, the brush can be used without soap. In practice several styles of brush .can beusedwith one receptacle.
