To all whom it 122 ay concern Be it known that I, FRED W. MILLER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful ice- Scale for Refrigerators, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention appertains to ice scales for refrigerators, and aims to provide a novel and improved device of that character.
It is the object of the present invention to provide a scales particularly applicable to refrigerators, which will enable the weight of the ice within the ice chest to be readily determined.
Another object of the present invention is to provide unique means for mounting the ice tray within the refrigerator, in combination with a weighing mechanism supporting the ice tray in a peculiar manner, to carry out the results desired, in a hi hly citicient and desi able manner.

With the foregoing general objects outlined, and with other objects in view, which will be apparent as the nature of the invention is better understood, the present invenarrangetion resides in the combination and ment of parts and in the detaiis construction hereinafter described and claimed, being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein dis closed, can be made within the scope of wh t; is claimed, without departing from t spirit of the invention.

"The ice tray 2 is supported by means of a U-shaped rod 3, the intermediate portion or cross bar of which is provided with seats l upon which the bottom of the tray '3 is sccured. the arms of the member or tray-car rier 3 upstanding at the sides of the tray at rightangles to the tray and having rollers or anti-frictional wheels 5 journaled upon their upper or free ends. lhe rollers or wheels 5 are movable within vertical guides formed by pairs of upright cleats (l secured to the inner faces of the respective walls of the case.
Disposed below the ice tray 2 is a scale lever Y, which is of i-shape, and the terminals of which are downturned to provide the pivot or fulcrum points 8, which engage a cross bar 9 carried by the case 1 at one side of the member 3. The arms of the lever T are pivoted to the intermediate portion of the member 3, so that the lever 1' carries the ice tray.

Inasmuch as the lever 7 is fulcrumed to the cross bar 9, and the. carrier 3 is pivoted to the branches of the lever 7, the ice tray will be properly carried by the lever, in order that the pointer 13 will be properly influenced by the weight of the ice within the tray.
From the foregoing, taken in connection with the drawii'ig. the advantages and capabilities ot' the present device will be apparent without further counnent, it being observed that the objects aimed at, have been carried out in a satisfactory manner. 7
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is 1. In a device of the character described, a scale. lever, a tray pivotally supported upon the lever. arms secured to the tray and arranged at right angles thereto, guides adjacent the said arms, rollers carried by the free ends of the said arms and engaging the guides. and eight-indicating means operalively connected to the lever.
2. In a device of the character described,
a scale lever, a U-shaped n'ien'iber having its intermediate portion pivoted upon the lever, a tray secured upon the intermediate portion of the U-shaped member, guides. the free ends of the arms of the U-shaped member engaging the guides, and weight-indicating means operatively connected to the lever.
3. In a device of the character described a V-shaped lever having terminal fulcrums, a U-shaped member having its intermediate portion pivoted to the branches of the lever, a tray secured upon the intermediate portion of the Ushaped member, means for guiding the free ends of the arms of the. -U- shaped member, and weightindicating means operatively connected to the crotch ot' the lever.
4. In combination with a case, a scale lever t'ulcrumed therein, a U-shaped member having its intermediate portion pivoted to the lever, a tray secured upon the intermediate portion of the U -shaped member, guides carried by the case, rollers carried by the arms of the U-shaped member and engaging the guides, and weight-indicating means operatively connected with the lever.
