My invention releies to new and useful improvements in life preserving suits.

With chess and other objects in view the invention resides and consists in the construction and novel combination and arrangement of pores hereinafter more fully described illustrated in the accompanying druwings, pointed out in the claim hereto appended, it being understood that various changes in the form, proportion, size and minor details of construction Wichin the scope of the claim may be resorted to without departure from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invenlion.

As will be noted the complete device is formed in two parts, though I make claim at this time to the body portion only and have illustrated the hood portion only to show the completeness of the outfit. 1

The suit is obviously formed of rubber or a suitable rubber cloth preparation which will serve to prevent the leakage of water and likewise to prevent the escape of air from the pneumatic compartment. The suit includes a body portion 5 formed of one piece and having leg and arm extensions 6 and 7. The open neck portion 8 is gathcred and provided with a cord 9 by means of which it may be closed around and against the neck of the wearer,

10 represents an annular pneumatic chamher which extends around the body portion of the suit and is adopted to be inflated by a bellows 11 or other suitable air pumping device which is secured to the upper body portion of the suit and is connected by a flexible tube 12 with the pneumatic chamber so that by the operation of the hand or arm air maybe readily forced into the chamber. This pipe, is preferably rigidly connected to the suit and thus forms a permanent part of the outfit. The pneumatic-compartment is preferably made of a size proportionate to that shown inthc drawing and obviously is ample to support most any size person.

The hood 14 is preferably secured to the back of the body of the suit in the form of a cape and rests upon the head of the wearer with the front edge or flaps lying loose upon the chestof the body portion of the suit. Suitable pieces of glass 15 ere inserted infront of the hood to permit the wearer to see out and a piece of metal or wire gauze 18 is also inserted so as to permit the wearer to breahh easily.
