DOLL.
Application lcil February 2 To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LOUIS V. ARoNsoN, a citizen of the United States and a resident of Newark, in the county of ssex and State of New Jersey, liaveinvented certain n ew and useful Improvements in Dolls, of which the following is a s eciiication. n
The invention re ates to improvements in toys as dolls, more articularly to such as are provided with ta king or sound emitting It has for its object to enable some part or parts of the doll proper to move when the sound emitting mechanism is actuated and to construct the doll in sucha manner that, if desired, said movement will not interfere with the normal movement or the position of said parts.
In the accompanyin drawing which illustrates the invention, igure 1 is a front elevation and Fig2a side elevation of the improved doll.` ig.`8 is a detail view illustrating the attachment of the arm members.
Similar characters of reference designate corresponding partsthroughout the several views.
Referring to the drawin 11 designates the body portion proper which is constructed in any suitable manner and is herein shown v as a hollow semi-cylindrical body open at the front. To the inner walls of said body is fixedly attached one member 12 vof the sound emitting mechanism, the same being shown by way of example as a spring distended bellows and whose movable member 13 extends from said body portion and preferably outwardly from the front thereof. In pressing upon said movable member a suitable sound will be emitted by a whistle 14 or other sound producing device-which may be attached, for example,to the member 12 as shown.
To the lower part of the body 11 may be pivotally attached the legs 15 by means of suitable resilient washers 16 and pin 16', as is well understood. The arms 17, however, are not as heretofore attached direct-ly to the body but are pivotally attached by resilient washers 18 and pin 19 to ears 20 at opposite ends of a plate 21 which is xedly secured to the outer and movable member 13 of the bellows. The arms 17, therefore, may efiect a movement independent of the member 18 to which they are frictionally held by the said washers withl suillcient strength to maintain any positionv in whiehthey are lpooineation o! Letten Patent.

placed and will, furthermore, partake of any movement of the member 13 when the same is actuated. To plate 21 is iixedly secured, moreover, a plate 22 whichcarries the head of the doll, and the latter will thus be caused to follow the movements of the bellows member 18, the extent of movement of both head and arms bein indicated by the position shown in dotte lines. The doll is thus provided with movable arms and legs, the former as well as the head of the doll being further movable when the doll is caused to emit a sound by pressing upon the bellows or the like.
I claim 1. A ligure toy, comprising a body and one or more movable parts attached thereto, sound emitting mechanism mounted on said body and having a. portion adapted to be moved to cause said' mechanism to respond,
said movable part or parte being connected to said movable portion of the sound emitting mechanism, and means for holding said movable part or parts in different adjustments.
2. A figure toy, comprising a body and one or more movable parts attached thereto, sound emitting mechanism mounted on said body and having a portion' adapted to be moved to cause saidmechanism to respond, said movable part or parts being connected to said movable portion of the sound emitting mechanism, and resilient washers between said movable part or parts and the said body.
8. A doll, comprising a body portion, sound emitting mechanism mounted thereon and having a portionadapted to be moved to cause said mechanism to respond, and arms pivotally attached to said movable member.
4. A doll, comprising a body portion, sound emitting mechanism mounted thereon and having a portion adapted to be moved to cause said mechanism to respond, a head attached to said movable member. and arms pivotally attached to said lmovable member.
5. A doll, comprising a body portion, and a bellows and sound emittin device attached thereto, legs pivotally attac ied to said body portion, ahead fixe'dly attached to the movable member of said bellows, and arms piv otally attached to said member.
A doll, comprising a bodv portion, and a bellows and sound emitting device attached thereto, a plate secured to the movable memlll) ber of said bellows aud'provided with eers at the sides, and arms pifotaly attached to said ears.
7. A doll., comprising n body portion, and a. bellows rind-sound emit-ting device attached thereto, legs 'pvotulljy attached to said body portion, a Plate secured to the movable membei' of Suid bellows and provided with ears ai; the sides, arms pivetally attached to seid.
ears, and a, hea'd fixedly secured to said 10 plate.
Signed at Newark, in the county of Essex, und State of New Jersey, this 26th day of February, A.. D. 1915.
