BENNETT, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Detroit, in the county of Wayne and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Blowers-for Boilers, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings, 2 j v This invention relates to blowers for boilers and has for its object to provide a blower that can be advantageously used in connection with a boiler of the water tube type. I attach considerable importance to the fact that the steam ejectorsor nozzles can be oscillated as the injector headis revolved,
and it is by this action that steam is projected against the tubes or flues to thoroughly remove soot and incrustations from the same. By oscillating or adjusting the nozzles or ejectors, the striking area of the steam can be increased and decreased. and in using the term striking area I allude to thatarea of blasts or jets denoted by. 66 dotted lines in Fig. 5, which inctudcs such space wherein steam is effective for removing soot and incrustations. The combination with a boiler setting of the vertical type, of a battery of blowers carried thereby each including a revoluble steam injecting head movable into and out of said boiler setting, oscillatory opposing nozzles carried by each head, and means operatable exteriorly of said boiler setting for simultaneously revolving said head and distending and retracting the nozzles carried thereby.
