A fiying machine provided with a front pro eller, a series of lifting planes located bac thereof, a rear propeller rotating with a higher speed and in a direction opposite to that of the front propeller, a series of lifting planes located back of the rear propeller, and means for vertically reciprocating both series of planes.
2. In a flying machine, the combination of an air propeller and a series of cooperating reciprocative lifting planes located hack thereof and inclined rela-tively to the current produced by said propeller, and meantl `for varying the course of said planes.
3. In a flying machine, the combination of an air propeller, a guidelocated back ther of, reciprocative lifting planes engaging said guide and inclined relatively to the air current produced by the propeller, and means for varying the inclination of the guide` 4. A iying machine comprising a frame, a propeller, a guide fulcrumed to the frame, reciprocative lifting planes engaging said guide and inclined relatively to the air cuia rent produced by the propeller, and means for tiltin the guide.

In a flying machine having a wheelmounted frame, a motor, inclined levitating planes and air propellers disposed within said frame, means for creating lift by moving -said planes in a forward direction with rcspect-to said frame, and means for int-,reas ing said lift by impel'ling current of air against the under surfaces of said planes in a rearward direction.
44. In a flying machine, a trame, reversible propellers, a plurality of planes, inc-ans tor tilting said planes, and means for imparting a movementto said planes diagonally forward with respect to said frame against the currents of said propellers.

In a flying machine, a frame, a plurality of reversible air propellers adapted to create a rearwardly directed current of air, a plurality of adjustably inclined planes and means for moving said planes with respect to said frame in a forward direction against said current, in such a way, that the pressure against said planes results from the combined velocity oi' movement of the planes and the current relative to each other.

In a flying machine, a frame, a motor, reversible air propellers operated thereby, a plurality of planes, means for varying the inclination of said planes with respect to the currents of said propellers, and means for moving said planes with respect to said frame in a direction diagonally across the said currents. a

In a Flying machine, propelling and levitating means comprising adjustably in cliued reciprocating planes and air propellers adapted to impcl a current of air against the under sides of said planes, a motor, a crankshaft, stimoli-varying mechanism attached thereto and adapted to operatively connect said propclle and planes,and means comprising relief-cocks attached to the cylinders of said motor and adapted to eliminate the compression in said cylinders in such a way that the propcllcrs and planes are ire:k to operate by other means.

In a flying machine having a frame, the combination of reversible air propellers, propelling and levitating means, comprising paddle Wheels and adjustably inclined planes, means for moving said planes diagonally forward with respect to said frame and across the rearwardly directed currents generated by the propellers and a powertransniitting mechanism to operate said paddle Wheels and planes when the propeller-s are rotated.
54. ln a flying machine, a frame mounted on propelling and guidingwheels, Va motor disposed Within said frame, propellers adapted to be rotated by air currents, a plurality of inclined levitating planes mounted in said frame, adjustable means for guiding said planes in a forward and downward direction, and means comprising variable speed and power transmitting mechanism for operatively connecting said inclined planem and said propelling Ywheels with said propellers.

In a flying machine, a plurality of reversible propellers adapted to be rotated by air currents, propelling wht-cls intergeared with said propellers, casings partly inclosing said wheels, paddles attached to said Wheels, a plurality of reciprocating levitating planes arranged in oppositely moving groups, a motor, a crankshaft adapted to operutiwly connect said planes with said propellcrs and Wheels, relief valves attached to said motor, and means for simultaneously opening said valves to cut out said motor.
56. In a flying machine, the combination of propellers adapted to be rotated by air currents, reciprocating levitating planes, joined in oscillating groups, propelling Wheels, and means comprising power transmitting and variable speed mechanism,
