The numeral 1 indicates one of the tiles 'used in my new construction in the form in which the tile is used in the construction of the door jamb. These tiles are preferably salt glazed tile and are slightlycurved so as to form symmetrically the cylindrical construction of the completed silo. The end of the tile adjacent to the door jamb is cut out as shown at 2 in Fig. 5, for the pur-v pose hereinafter set forth. The other tiles used in the construction of the silo are similar to the tiles 1, with the. exception that they are not cut out as shown at 2. To secure the channel plates in said position, I provide angle plates 8 the horizontal member of each of said plates being perforated to fit upon the rod 5 and the vertical member being also perforated to receive one end of a bar '9, which extends across the doorway and engages the channel plate and a corresponding angle plate on the opposite side thereof. .The bars 9 are threaded at both ends to" receive nuts 10 and 11 which are adapted to lock together the channel and angle plates'and to secure the'bars thereto. The bars 9 are spaced at suitable intervals the entire height of the doorway, preferably about 2-,- feet apart. Secured to one of the rods 5, between each course of tiles, are two heavy wires, or cables, 12, which pass entirely around the silo, being embedded in the mortar between courses, and are attached to the rod 5 on the opposite side of the doorway. Battens 13 are secured to the door sections 14 so that said sections may be properly secured between the door jambs.
The openings 2 in the tiles 1 during the construction of the silo are filled with mortar, thus embedding the rods 5., angle plates 10, and connected parts.
From the foregoing description the nature of my new silo construction will be apparent to those skilled in the art.
