Be it known that I, EnMUNn B. POWERS, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city 0l New York, borough ot' Brooklyn, in the county o'fKings and btate of New York, have invented a certain new and useful lm- .prove-ment 1n nticreeping Devices for lhtilway-Rails, ot which the following is a speciiieation.
The invention relates to that class ot auticreel'iers in which the rail is held by a` roller engaged between the hase-flange ot the rail and an angular t'aee ol a lng formed on the tie-plate upon which the rail is supported. and the object of the invention is to provide simple, inexpensive means t'or holding the roller against vertical movement and escape from the angular space in which it performs its l'innetion.

such angular face being inclined upwardly toward such rail, corrugations on said roller extending longitudinally thereof, said roller having the formof a truncated cone and constructed to match to and engage said upwardly inclined face of said .lug and to en- -gage beneath the baseange of the rail to hold said roller against; vertical movement. 4. In a device of the character set forth,
