To all whom t'txmdy concern.-

Be'it known that we, DAVID I-I. BALL and J 011;: BROOKS, of Sinnamnhoning, in the county-oi Uzuneron and in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful lmprovements in Our-Replacers; nnddo' hereby deelare'that the following is a tell, clear, and exact description ther'eol', reference 'b'eing'hadto'the -acct; i'xpzmying drawing and to theletters of reference marked thereon making a part of end being as high as as the rail, and the rear end very.

:Kear the frontend in the upper side of the bedpiece A is a recess, in which a clamp, 13, is pivoted.

This clamp extends on both sides of the bed-piece, V

andsoconstructed at both ends that. the bed-piece may be placedon either side of the rail, and the clamp fit over the top oi: the rail and hold the bed-piece t0 the rail.

The clamp B being. pivoted, it is readily-seen that the hed-pieee-may be placed it almost any angle with the rail, that is, the rear end of the bed-piece may be closer to or further from the rail, as may be desired or necessary.

' On the hpper side of the bed-piece A is pivoted a. rib-0r rail, 0', which is inelinedat both ends, as shown.

This rib or rail being" adjusted in thedesired positionisheldhy. a pin orbelt, a, inserted into a hole in the bod-piece at the side of the rib.

By-nsiug four of these replac-ers the carscau be readily moved onto the track, whether close to or further from the rails; and the rib 0 being movable, the

car-wheel may run on said rib or at the side thereof,

as required.

We do not claim an inclined bed-piece having a pivoted oil;- but What we do clainras new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The within-described car replacer, consisting of the inc-lined bed A having clasp B pivoted at one end, and

provided with the pivoted rail 0 on its face, which extends over and beyond the clasp, all substantially as shown and described.
