JOSEF MARTIN, OF MUNICH, GERMANY.
RECEPTAGLE FOR LIGHT ASHES.
. Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed January 26, 1914. Serial No. 814,604.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Josnr MARTIN, a subject of the King of Bavaria, residing at Munich, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Receptacles for Light Ashes, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to a receptacle for the dustless conveyance of light ashes and consists in the special construction of this receptacle with a displaceable side hopper and a conveyor screw.
The drawing illustrates a construction of the invention as follows: The receptacle a for carrying light ashes is suspended by the suspension device I) from the traveling wheels of a mono-rail track. The filling opening of the receptacle is arranged at one side and is provided with a tubular projection 0 which by aid of the screw spindle d and the double armed lever e is displaceable in the vertical direction. The outlets of the hopper containing the light ashes are provided with frusto-conically shaped orifices f, which can be pressed close against the correspondingly shaped orifice of the tubular piece 0. Then the closing lid 9 is open, then the light ashes fall out of the hopper into the receptacle a and fill this latter up to the critical angle of flow of the ashes (indicated in the drawing by a dotted line). Hereupon, the closing lid 9 is shut and a carrier screw it placed in the receptacle is caused to revolve. By this means, the empty space within the receptacle is filled with the light ashes, enabling the ashes remaining in the tubular piece to' slip down. After this, the tubular piece 0 is lowered until it is disengaged from the mouthpiece f of the hopper, and the receptacle can then be moved along the mono-rail.
By this construction of the receptacle, the advantage is attained that also the tubular piece which forms the filling hopper is dis- Gopies of this patent may be obtained for charged within the receptacle, consequently any spilling over after the filling during the sinking of the tubular piece cannot take place.
Having now particularly described and ascertained the nature of my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, I declare that whatI claim is 1. Means for the removal of light ashes, comprising a receptacle a suspending rod connecting said receptacle to a track rail, a hopper above said receptacle a tube connecting said hopper to said receptacle, means to reciprocate said tube vertically and a conveyor in the upper part of said receptacle.
2. A device for the dustless removal of light ashes comprising a receptacle suspended by a vertical hanger to a mono-rail, a hopper above said receptacle a main tube connecting said hopper with said receptacle, a frusto-conical inlet to said tube contacting closely with a frusto-conical outlet on said hopper, a short tube on the opening into said receptacle into which the main tube telescopes, a two-armed lever fulcrumed on said hanger and adapted to vertically reciprocate said main tube, a con veyer screw disposed transversely in the upper part of said receptacle, and means to actuate said lever and said conveyor screw.
3. In a device for the removal of light asheshaving a receptacle, a hopper above said receptacle and a main tube connecting said hopper to said receptacle, a short tube making a telescoping joint with said main tube and means to vertically reciprocate said main tube, as specified.
In testimony whereof I have afiixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
JOSEF MARTIN.
